In the '50s and '60s, the String shelf made a real breakthrough, and it was not only present in Swedish homes but also won many prizes in design competitions worldwide. The String production was paused during some years and rejuvenated in 2004 as String Furniture. The design of new shelving systems and furniture resumed, and Nisse Strinning became once again the driving force in the design of beautiful, functional, and affordable shelves.
The miniature model of String shelf was designed by Nisse Strinning for the relaunch of the brand in the 2000s. It is a smaller shelf adapted for pocketbooks and storage of small things. Pocket shelf became an immediate success, and it still is today!
Sustainability and social responsibility have the top priority for String, so the majority of the production is located in Sweden. Environment and quality are the two other top-priority concepts that are crucial in choosing suppliers and manufacturers. Your String shelf must be both - timeless and quality assured - to be able to decorate the walls of your home for a long time.
